Description We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Buyer to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In this role, you will manage procurement activities to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing processes while fostering strong relationships with suppliers. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: u2022 Source and acquire raw materials, components, and services essential for manufacturing operations. u2022 Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure cost-effective agreements. u2022 Establish and nurture relationships with key vendors to maintain reliable supply chains. u2022 Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning and production teams to prevent shortages. u2022 Conduct market analysis to identify potential alternative suppliers and mitigate risks. u2022 Generate and oversee purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. u2022 Address and resolve supplier issues related to quality, delivery delays, or pricing discrepancies. u2022 Support the introduction of new products by coordinating supplier selection and ensuring material readiness. u2022 Track and report performance metrics, cost savings, and supplier reliability. u2022 Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and procedures. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles. u2022 Strong knowledge of sourcing and supplier management in a manufacturing environment. u2022 Proven track record of successful contract negotiation and cost-saving strategies. u2022 Familiarity with inventory management and supply chain coordination. u2022 Ability to analyze market trends and identify reliable supplier alternatives. u2022 Proficiency in managing purchase orders and ensuring timely deliveries. u2022 Excellent problem-solving skills to address supplier performance issues. u2022 Strong communication and relationship-building abilities with vendors and internal teams.
