Job Title : Senior Systems Technician (A&P Mechanic) Job Type: Contract, Full time (12 months) Location: Mesa, AZ Schedule: 1st and 2nd shifts Pay Rate: $37 - $40 PDS Tech is seeking a highly motivated Senior A&P Technician to support our client in Mesa. Primary tasks will be associated with pneumatic tube and valve installation, hydraulic systems installation, hybrid rocket propulsion installation, landing gear, flight control actuators, cabin ECS, A/C systems troubleshooting and other dynamic and exciting spacecraft manufacturing operations. Maintain focus on timeliness and execution of tasks and deliverables every day. Support the company strategy by holding ourselves and one another accountable for getting the work done. u2022Perform a variety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions such as removal and installations of airframes, landing gear, engine components, electrical components, and control systems to assure conformance to procedures, performance and test specifications. u2022Perform required periodic maintenance and necessary service of aircraft mechanical systems. u2022Must demonstrate the ability to consistently perform assigned maintenance task within the quoted or standard u2022Provide work directions for assigned technicians u2022 Act on behalf of Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) in his/her absence and assume the duties and responsibilities of MTL when assigned. u2022Coordinate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements. u2022 Properly complete work order signoffs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner. u2022Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications. . 5. Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment. u2022Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely. u2022Operate and supervise use of special support equipment used in removal and installation of major components. u2022Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and to charge labor to correct work orders and item numbers. u2022Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered. u2022Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags. u2022Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility. u2022Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment u2022Perform other duties as assigned. u2022Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems within each aircraft product line. u2022Advanced knowledge of pertinent technical reference materials (maintenance manuals, IPCs, Service Bulletins, structural repair manuals, engineering drawings, ADS, etc.). 3. Working knowledge of the FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures. u2022Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. u2022 Provide input of technical and operational knowledge in the assessment and repair/maintenance recommendations in support of the program assigned u2022 Work on manufacturing assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations u2022 Ensure quality and efficiency of installations, including troubleshooting and may provide guidance in troubleshooting processes and concepts u2022 Adhere to assembly instructions to ensure accurate completion of complex project assemblies u2022 Continuously practice safety behavior and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness/prevention; adhere to regulatory protocols and rules u2022 Work collaboratively to achieve goals and/or complete assigned tasks Required Skills and Experience u2022High School Diploma or GED. u2022US Citizen u20226-8 years Aviation Maintenance experience to include 3 years of experience working on mid/large size aircraft required. u2022FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate is a Plus u2022 Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting strongly preferred u2022 Knowledge of applying current manufacturing practices and willingness to learn cutting edge spacecraft manufacturing techniques and /or Airframe & Power plant (A&P) training u2022 Hands-on experience in a precision yet manual manufacturing setting strongly preferred u2022 Use of hand drills, power feed drills (PFD), Jiffy/E-Tech tools, Setti Tec u2022 Demonstrate willingness to adjust thinking and behavior u2022 Knowledge of providing quality repairs of malfunctioning systems u2022 Ability to collaborate on technical projects with fellow technicians, or interdepartmental functions to achieve goals or solve problems u2022 Ability to communicate in a manner that is timely, respectful, and open to other ideas u2022 Knowledge of lean manufacturing philosophies and tools a plus u2022 Ability to get into the details, while maintaining a broader view u2022 Strong safety forward thinking, practice good housekeeping, tool control Pay Details: $37.00 to $40.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
