If youu2019re passionate about teamwork, thrive in a fast-paced clinical setting, and want to make a difference in the lives of animals and their people, weu2019d love to have you join us The Veterinary Technician I or II in Orthopedic Surgery plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the orthopedic service by providing skilled technical care to patients and ensuring seamless coordination among clinicians, clients, students, and referring veterinarians. Essential Job Duties: Provide hands-on clinical and surgical support for orthopedic patients by safely handling and monitoring patients, assisting with blood draws, administering sedation for minor procedures, and coordinating laboratory, anesthesia, imaging, and surgical services with a focus on patient comfort and safety. Prepare and support orthopedic surgical procedures by managing daily surgery schedules; clipping, prepping, and draping patients; scrubbing in for routine procedures such as TPLOs and FHOs; and, with advanced training, assisting in complex orthopedic surgeries including total joint replacements. Promote efficient surgical workflow and case completion by collaborating with faculty, residents, students, and technical staff. Manage client and referring veterinarian communication for the orthopedic service. Deliver timely follow-up and educational support to clients and rDVMs. Teach and mentor veterinary learners by providing hands-on instruction in bandaging, casting, splinting, restraint, and sterilization techniques; facilitating skills labs; and supporting clinical education for CSU and Front Range Community College students, interns, and residents. Maintain clinical spaces and support service operations. Perform other related duties as assigned to support orthopedic service operations and patient care. Conditions of Employment: Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires). Supervision: Not applicable. Minimum Qualifications: + Registered as a Veterinary Technician (RVT) or Provisional Veterinary Technician (PVT) through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) by the time of hire. + Certified in the State of Colorado or other eligible state determined byCACVT. Preferred Qualifications: + 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting with demonstrated proficiency in animal handling, client communication, and basic lab techniques.
