High School Math Teacher or Secondary Education Teacher Pay Range:$70,000 - $80,000 per year $2,500 Sign-On Bonus RFK CommunityAlliance has an exciting opportunity for a High School Math Teacher orSecondary Special Education Teacher in Springfield, MA Why this job isamazing The RFK Academy at RFK Community Alliance is a state-approvedspecial education day school that serves students 10-22 years of agewith multiple disabilities. The Math Teacher contributes to theapplication of functional and academic education as a key educationalteam member within a therapeutic milieu. The Math Teacher will developand oversee progress on content and skill-based goals and evaluate andarticulate progress collaboratively with the team according to treatmentplanning and students' Individualized Education Programs. Here's whereyou come in The Math Teacher is vital in creating a differentiatedcurriculum, instructing content, and, most importantly, supportingstudents' ability to access the academic program. You will alsoimplement grade-level curricula to meet academic standards based on theMass. Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core Curriculum. Requires abilityto recognize the unique qualities of each student and incorporate theminto appropriate lessons and/or projects. Key responsibilities: Operatesa classroom that meets the student's needs for safety, educationalgrowth, and social/emotional development. Evaluates student's specificeducational needs in the area of Mathematics and develop educationalplans and programs to meet those needs. Produces educational assessments(both formal and informal) in the area of Mathematics for each student.Assists in the development of Individual Education Program goals withthe Education Coordinator. Provides classroom instruction necessary tohelp each student meet any Mathematics goals established in theirIndividualized Education Program as well as curriculum goals for RFKCommunity Alliance and Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Participatesin TEAM and Treatment Team Meetings that involve any of their classroomstudents. Follows and actively participates in the implementation of theBehavior Management System. Supervises and develops a team atmospherewith colleagues and teaching assistants. Attends and activelyparticipates in Staff meetings and Professional Development Days.Actively participates in teacher team meetings and implements teamgoals. Acts as a positive adult role model with students and a positiveteam member with all RFK staff and outside collaterals. Assumes otherresponsibilities necessary to ensure program safety and continuity. WhoYou Are You are someone who leas with compassion and who valuescollaboration, professionalism and teamwork. The best-qualifiedcandidate will have a Bachelor's degree but a Master's degree and MAcertification in Mathematics (5-12) or Moderate Disabilities, (5-15) ispreferred. Special Education Teacher: Moderate Disabilities, HighSchool, Science background preferred.
