This job was posted by : For moreinformation, please see: StoryThe Psychology Department at Wichita State University seeks to hire atenure-track, Assistant Professor in Community Psychology. We are opento all areas of research and community interests but are especiallyinterested in scholars who work with diverse populations orunderrepresented groups, or otherwise conduct research that promotescommunity wellness and social justice. We are also particularlyinterested in applicants who can teach policy, grant-writing, orgraduate-level courses in other Community Psychology competency areas.Applicants should be graduates of a Community Psychology or relatedPh.D. program and have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications.Salary range begins at $70,000 and is commensurate with education andexperience. The earliest start date would be Fall 2025; however, a laterstart date (i.e., Spring, or Fall 2026) is acceptable.The department has three Ph.D. programs in clinical, community, andhuman factors psychology, as well as a large undergraduate student body.Because the clinical programs curriculum includes required courses incommunity psychology, the successful applicant will have a jointappointment as a core faculty member within both programs. Thedepartment is research oriented and has an expectation for faculty toseek external funding. Wichita State University is located in Kansasslargest city and major industrial metropolitan area, with a populationof over 750,000. Wichita has a vibrant and growing community, with adiverse school district yet with a modest cost of living and a thrivingdowntown. Wichita State also has an in-house clinical psychologytraining clinic that serves the greater Wichita area.
