Description A well-established healthcare organization in Sylacauga is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support its finance and accounting operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close, assisting with audits, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently while collaborating with multiple departments across the organization. Key Responsibilities + Support accounts payable processes including invoice matching, coding, reporting, and payment processing + Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers + Assist with monthly financial close and reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts + Maintain accounting records to support annual audits, budgets, and cost reporting + Perform quarterly petty cash audits and reconcile balances to the general ledger + Monitor and distribute electronic invoices daily to appropriate departments + Maintain lease accounting records in accordance with applicable accounting standards + Conduct ongoing review of financial data and interfaces to ensure accuracy and timeliness + Protect confidential financial and organizational information + Participate in continuing education and professional development Work Environment + Full-time, onsite position + Stable healthcare organization with structured processes + Collaborative and professional culture + Role focused on accuracy, compliance, and operational support This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking a stable role in healthcare with exposure to financial reporting, audits, and month-end close in a mission-driven environment.
