2026-2027 Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A)

Under the supervision of a Speech Language Pathologist, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) impacts students lives by:Conduct speech and language screenings and perform hearing screenings (limited to pass/fail interpretation)Working with students one-on-one or in small groups to assist with language and communication developmentConsulting with the Director of Special Education regarding opportunities to incorporate speech and language strategies in classroom settingsRemaining knowledgeable of current trends and federal and state regulations in the field of speech-language pathology and special education to ensure complianceAssisting in writing speech and language IEPs and progress reports to ensure students are on track to reaching their objectivesWith permission and guidance of the supervising speech-language pathologist, SLP-As may participate in parent conferences, individual educational program meetings (IEP), case conferences, and interdisciplinary team conferences.Writing documentation notes of therapy sessions as required by Medicaid regulations - treatment ties directly to IEP goals/objectives; willingness to be trained on and use electronic encounter tracking systemMaintain student service logs for each student on caseloadKeeping certifications and licensures currentTaking on other tasks as neededWhat We Offer:
