GovCIO is currently hiring for aSeniorPaaS Cutter System Engineer / Administratorspecializing in Windows Server and MicrosoftHyper Vsupport, to provideday to dayengineering and operational administration for amission criticalU.S. Coast Guard program.This position willbe located in Alexandria, VA and will be hybrid remote.Theideal candidate will havehandsonexperience engineering and managing physicalHyperVserver infrastructure while supporting both shoreside and cutter environments across UNCLAS and SIPR networks. This role includes handlingsenior levelescalated troubleshooting, performing system engineering, server imaging, configuration, and platform sustainment, collaborating with multiple engineering teams, and ensuring the reliability, availability, security, and lifecycle support of the operational environment.Engineer, implement, and resolve escalated tickets for physicalHyper-Vservers running Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019.Serve as the PaaS Cutter System Administrator, responsible for platform service availability, configuration control, and lifecycle sustainment in cutter environments.Providesenior leveloperational and engineering support for server images and platform builds, including testing, validation, security hardening, and quarterly patch captures.Coordinate with Dell and other enterprise hardware vendors for warranty service, diagnostics,componentreplacement, and lifecycle planning.Maintain and engineer Windows Deployment Services (WDS) to supportPXEbasedserverand platform deployments.Collaborate with Engineering, ICO, Collaboration, Security, Commvault, Patch Management, and Vulnerability Management teams to support system performance and security posture.Support U.S. Coast Guard cutter modernization initiatives, including server recapitalization, OS upgrades, and platform refresh efforts.Assistinmaintainingshoreside physicalHyper-Vservers, including sustainment, lifecycle, and modernization activities.Ensure compliance with DoD and U.S. Coast Guard security requirements, STIGs, and operational directives.Document engineering designs, configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and operational processes.Generate and analyze system health, performance, availability, and capacity reports asrequired.High School with 9+ years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills and ExperienceCertifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE,CySA+)Windows Server Engineering: Experience supporting Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016, and 2019 inmission criticalenterprise environments.MicrosoftHyper-V: Handson experience engineering and administering physicalHyperVhost infrastructure.PaaS Administration: Experience supporting Platform as aService (PaaS) environments, including configuration control and lifecycle management.Hardware Management: Experience working with enterprise server hardware, vendor coordination, diagnostics, andcomponentreplacement.Server Imaging:Proficiencywith server image management, patching workflows, WDS, andPXEbaseddeployments.Network Environments: Experienceoperatingwithin UNCLAS and SIPR environments.Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, virtualization, andOSlevelissues.Documentation: Ability to produce clear, detailed technical and engineering documentation.Clearance Required: Must have an active Secret clearance Preferred Skills and ExperienceExperience supporting DoD or U.S. Coast Guard cutter environmentsExperience performing cutter system administration in degraded, disconnected, orlimited bandwidthconditionsExperience supporting server recapitalization, modernization, and operatingsystemupgrade effortsUnderstanding of PaaS, IaaS, and hybrid infrastructure models in operational environmentsFamiliarity with Commvault, vulnerability management tools, and patch management workflowsAbility to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teamsStrong communicationskills for briefing technical and nontechnical stakeholders. #JP #USCG #DICEGovCIO is a team of transformers--people who are passionate about transforming government IT. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.USD $105,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
