The LCS General Mission Module Maintenance Technician will engage in Maintenance, Mission Module Movements/Embarks and Debarks, Pre-embark Staging, Maintenance Planning, Fly-Away/Distance Support and Logistic Engineering Support. The candidate will perform a variety of duties including Mission Package Application Software (MPAS) installation and test, Corrective Maintenance, Emergent Repair, and Preventative Maintenance involving GDMS Mission Module support of Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). Travel required 40% of time.Role and Position Objectives:Corrective Maintenance, Emergent Repair, Preventative Maintenance and Maintenance planningLead Mission Module Pre-embark Staging, Movements/Embarks and DebarksFly-Away/Distance Support and Logistic Engineering stallation and testing of Mission Package Application Software (MPAS)Assists in the development, implementation, installs, tests, modifies and/or operates complex equipment and systems.Participates and leads on the engineering work team and supports other team members in experimental design, materials, equipment setup/maintenance and related issuesPerforms a variety of equipment/process operations involving an application or technical skills in a specific area (electrical, software, manufacturing, optical, etc.)Construct, modify, debug, test and adjust a variety of tools and equipment given appropriate drawings, parts and instructions.Must be able to perform physically demanding work in various environments, to include working aloft, in tight, restricted spaces on-board Naval Platforms, climbing scaffolding, ladders and standing for long periods of time on-board a Navy ship or pier and be able to lift 50 lbs.Ability to use basic hand tools and have knowledge and understanding of test equipment such as voltage meter, power quality analyzer, and fiber test equipment., Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of your time., What sets you apart:Experience with 11m Rigid-hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB), qualification as a RHIB Coxswain/operator / maintainer.
