Job Title: Painter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Painter with a strong product knowledge of materials in the department. The ideal candidate will prepare jobs before painting, utilize tools such as HVLP spray guns and sanding equipment, and mix and match paints to meet job requirements. Additionally, the candidate will work closely with the Purchasing Department to order paints and must be able to pass a respirator fit test before painting. Responsibilities + Prepare the job site by sanding and taping off areas before painting. + Use tools such as HVLP spray guns, drills, and sanding equipment effectively. + Mix and match paints and colors to meet job specifications. + Order necessary paints by collaborating with the Purchasing Department. + Pass a respirator fit test before painting. + Interpret technical documents, including diagrams, schematics, and blueprints. + Maintain a clean and tidy workspace. + Meet all safety requirements as per company and industry standards. + Identify and handle defective items according to established procedures. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 1+ year of experience as an automotive/industrial painter. + 1+ year of experience with paint booths and HVLP spray guns. + Experience in a manufacturing facility as a painter. + Ability to read a tape measure. + Experience with deburring and machine operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to operate various shop machinery. + Ability to read shop blueprints. + Comfortable with assembly tasks. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a large shop/manufacturing environment that is non-climate controlled. Dock doors are open and fans are used to control temperature during warmer seasons. This is a 1st shift position, with hours from 7 AM to 3:30 PM and overtime available starting at 6 AM. The pay rate is determined by candidate needs and years of experience in the field. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Galion, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $21.00/hr.
