Environmental Health Specialist Description u2022Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations/permits (Title V, CEMS, HON, MON, LDAR, CISWI, CAMD, Boiler MACT, SPCC, NPDES, SDWA, RCRA, DOT). u2022Work with site departments to maintain compliance with permits. u2022Coach, train, and guide operations and leadership on environmental requirements. u2022Supervise 2 hourly Environmental Technicians + 2 salaried Environmental professionals. u2022Set goals aligned with site SHE objectives. u2022Develop and coach environmental team members. u2022Maintain environmental metrics to drive continuous improvement. u2022Oversee recordkeeping and monitoring data for all environmental media. u2022Ensure timely, accurate annual/semi annual/quarterly regulatory reporting. u2022Review consultant and team reports prior to final approval. u2022Report permit deviations promptly to agencies. u2022Act as liaison with IEPA/EPA, including during inspections. u2022Provide environmental support to production units. u2022Participate in reviewing MOCs and daily production meetings. u2022Develop cost effective and sustainable environmental solutions. u2022Evaluate consultants/vendors for value. u2022Update compliance policies and procedures periodically. u2022Assist operations with alarm strategies for environmental limits. u2022Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses. u2022Serve on-call approximately one week per month (including holidays), with ability to respond onsite. u2022Promote their 20 Safety Principles and Life-Saving Rules. u2022Intervene and engage others to correct safety deviations.
