This position requires a skilled and experienced registered nurse with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of clinical care and hospital operations. Job Duties: 1. Leadership and Supervision: - Provide leadership and direction to the Transfer Center nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient transfer processes. - Coordinate and monitor daily operations of the Transfer Center, ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory requirements. - Mentor and support nursing staff, fostering professional development and a positive work environment. - Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to staff members. 2. Patient Transfer Coordination - Oversee the assessment, planning, and facilitation of patient transfers from one facility to another, ensuring continuity of care. - Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to determine appropriate transfer plans and ensure timely execution. - Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize patient transfers based on medical urgency and resource availability. - Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all patient transfers, ensuring documentation meets legal and regulatory standards. 3. Communication and Collaboration - Act as a liaison between transferring and receiving facilities, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the transfer process. - Facilitate conference calls and meetings with multidisciplinary teams to discuss patient transfer logistics and address any concerns. - Establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including hospital administrators, physicians, and support services. - Provide regular updates to management on transfer center activities, challenges, and successes. 4. Quality Improvement - Identify opportunities for process improvements within the Transfer Center and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and patient care quality. - Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of transfer operations and identify areas for improvement. - Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission and state regulations. - Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to patient transfers. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Education: - Bachelors degree in nursing required. 2. Certification/Licensure: - Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board. 3. Experience: - Three years of recent (within the past five years) intensive care nursing experience that includes supervision and patient bed placement. 4. Skills and Competencies: - Strong critical thinking, accurate assessment and problem solving, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentiveness to detail, high-level analytical ability required to resolve complex patient flow issues, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge in nursing concepts, practices and procedures. Work Environment The Capacity Command Center is located at Northlake Mall. The role requires the ability to work under pressure and handle high-stress situations with professionalism and composure. Occasional travel may be required to meet with external stakeholders or attend professional development events. Physical Requirements 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
