Job Title: Mechanical Assembler Job Description The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. This role involves testing and calibrating parts to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications. You will utilize hand tools and power tools such as wrenches, pliers, drills, and impacts to assemble parts according to drawings and blueprints. The job requires working independently as well as collaboratively with other assemblers. Additionally, you will use a propane hand torch to apply shrink wrap material to products prior to shipping, while adhering to workplace safety protocols, including proper tool usage, lifting techniques, and hazard identification. Responsibilities + Assemble fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. + Test and calibrate parts to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications. + Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly tasks. + Read and interpret blueprints or schematics. + Operate measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools. + Perform workplace safety protocols, including proper tool usage, lifting techniques, and hazard identification. + Use a propane hand torch to apply shrink wrap material to products. Essential Skills + 3-5 years of mechanical assembly experience. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints or schematics. + Experience operating measuring tools, hand tools, and power tools. + 3-5 years of experience operating forklift/scissor lift. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Mechanical assembly experience. + Knowledge of power tools and schematics. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production environment with exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and other hazards. You will frequently lift and move objects between 10 - 50 pounds. Safety protocols must be followed at all times. The position is for the first shift, running from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $29.00/hr.
