Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Cargo & Conveyance Security Division, located in Washington DC. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. Responsibilities This position will allow you to use your expertise in managing and overseeing various programs which have an agency-wide and government-wide impact. Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security. This position starts at a salary of $169,279.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10). Typical duties include: Managing and directing all operations and facilities related to programs, policies, and Office of Field Operation initiatives with operational functions that are worldwide. Assisting senior leadership by planning, evaluating, integrating and coordinating initiatives within Office of Field Operation and coordinating staff actions with CBP leadership, special staff, directors, division chiefs, regional directors, and mission support staff. Directing various components of Office of Field Operation and oversees the production of a wide variety of programs and services. In close coordination with the Executive Assistant Commissioner or other senior leaders, the incumbent plans for short and long term operations for Office of Field Operation with a particular focus on interactions with and support from various program office personnel across CBP. Reviewing staff and Program Office operations and determines correctness and applicability of proposed actions. Directs staff, in coordination with the EAC/senior leadership, to take necessary corrective steps or to make modifications to proposals to ensure compliance with policies or to provide improved results.
