For more information, please visit and follow @SpringerNatureAbout the RoleThe Society Partnerships Manager is an integral part of our growing Society and Partner Management team at Springer Nature. This role will help implement our strategies on developing and maintaining society partner relationships including acquisition and renewal efforts, specifically focused on the Open Access (OA) landscape. This position will support our society strategy by collaborating with Publishers on acquisition opportunities and high-level renewal efforts, specifically across our FOA brands. This role will also be tasked with strengthening current society relationships and developing retention strategies that will enable Springer Nature to successful negotiate renewals.ResponsibilitiesIn collaboration with the Publishing team, build a robust society and partner program that aligns with our strategy and supports high-value acquisitions and renewals of our current society partners.Create a pipeline of new business leads, prioritizing opportunities based on key regions, disciplines, and business modelsDevelop strategies for retention of current society partnersIdentify opportunities and blockers for current and new business and liaise with business stakeholders on market requirements and capabilitiesUpdate our renewal process as needed, engaging internal colleagues to clarify responsibilities and supportIn collaboration with the Publishing subject expert, contribute to-and lead where necessary on-the development of proposals, P&L forecasts, presentations, and other materials in support of high-quality bids from RFP receipt to final partner decisionServe as central point for renewals and new business activity within assigned portfolios, working across the subject and business teams to track activity and decisionsCollaborate with stakeholders, partners, and other team members to contribute to a culture that is mutually supportive and serves the needs of our communitiesExperience, Skills & QualificationsEssentialExtensive academic publishing experience working with external partners, especially with academic societiesKnowledge of the different Open Access models in journal publishingUnderstanding of RFP processes in terms of society journal publishingFinancial acumen and experience with forecasting and P&L developmentExcellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate concepts and ideasDesirableExperience working on list management of academic journals.Ability to blend strategic and tactical thinking with commercial acumenStrong organizational, time management, and project management skillsAbility to train colleagues on workflows and processesAbility to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, and target-based organizationStrong presentation skillsSome travel may be requiredSpringer Nature US provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes the benefit offerings listed below:Medical, Dental and Vision401(k) with company match and contributionHybrid office working policy, Summer Hours, and paid time offFlexible Spending and C mmuter programsMultiple Life insurance optionsDisability coverageTuition AssistanceVoluntary benefits: Identity Theft Protection, Pet Insurance, and Legal Assistance InsuranceEmployee Assistance ProgramFamily friendly benefits and a variety of employee discountsAn array of Employee Social NetworksUS Annualized Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000.
