If you agree, then we'd love to hear from you.Job DescriptionWe are recruiting for a Publisher to join the Medicine & Health journals team.The Publisher will be responsible for our portfolio of Clinical Psychology and Psychiatry journals.The successful candidate will be a part of our highly motivated team, supporting T&Fs wider success through the management and development of high profile academic journals. Our portfolios publishat the cutting edge of the field, working with leaders in academia, healthcare and industry.As part of our global cross-functional publishing team this role will work closely with colleagues and partners around the world.What you'll be doing:Portfolio Management and GrowthCreating and deliveringstrategic development plans that drive quality, growth, and profitability for ourportfolios in clinical psychology and psychiatry.Under the direction of the Executive Publisher, overseeingand managingP&Ls and undertaking financial planningMeeting and wherever possible exceeding revenue and article volume targets.Building, maintainingand sharinga thorough knowledge of market need and competitor activity to inform decisions on journal developmentManagingthe successful transition to T&F of acquired titlesWorkingwith external Editors, Editorial teams and internal colleagues to commission and acquirenew contentRelationship ManagementBuildingand maintainingstrategic partnerships with academic societiesBuildingand maintainingstrategic partnerships with journal editors and potential editors from relevant academic communities.Developingnetworks within academic communities to position T&F as a subject leaderRepresentingT&F Journals at conferences and editorial board meetingsChampioningportfolio initiatives with internal and external stakeholdersCollaboratingeffectively with the team to exchange ideas, share best practices, and offer necessary support.Supportingthe best interests of the business during negotiations, collaboratingwith their manager to ensure a positive outcomes for all parties involvedOperational ExcellenceEnsuringcompliance with T&F Journals policies and best practicesOptimisingpublishing processes for efficiency and qualityCollaboratingwith and supportingthe work of the Editorial ServicesteamCollaboratingacross departments to ensure publication quality and timelinessAssuming accountability for managing your own learning, taking responsibility to identify and develop skills gapsQualificationsWhat we're looking for:The ideal candidate will have:Proven track record of working in scholarly publicationKnowledge of publishing best practice and policies, including an interest in publication ethics, funder mandates and industry trendsPreferabl with subject matter expertise or interestin a relevant fieldExperience working with external partners, including Editors, Editorial Boards, and Society leadershipExperience with recruitment and engagementof external Academic EditorsAn understanding of financial reporting and analysis as they relates to academic journals and previous P&L responsibilityExperience gathering competitive intelligence and performing market analysisCommunication and presentation skillsAdditional InformationWhat we're offering in return:Annual salary ranging from $76,500 - $90,000Salary commensurate with experienceAmple paid time offPaid parental leavePaid leave for life events; i.e. wedding or movingSick timeMedical & vision benefits4 volunteering days per yearDay off for your birthday401(k) matchFlexible working scheduleSeasonal social and charitable eventsTraining and developmentWhat you should know:Closing Date for applications:02 March2026Applications are shortlisted on a rolling basis, and we will be interviewing alongside advertising.
