Supervisory Physical Security Specialist

Summary Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Security Operations Directorate, Security Management Division, Physical Security Branch located in Dallas TX. Responsibilities Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above. The purpose of this position is to lead, guide, and oversee a team of Physical Security Specialists in the evaluation, implementation, and enhancement of physical security measures to protect CBP personnel, facilities, and assets, while aligning regional security initiatives with national strategic goals and ensuring compliance with established standards and best practices. This position starts at a salary of $136,736.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $177,762.00 (GS-14, Step 10). The Major Duties for the position are listed below but not limited to: Providing guidance and regularly communicates with direct reports, the Branch Chief (Rater), and CBP leadership within the area of responsibility on a daily or weekly basis. Applying a thorough understanding of security principles and risk management methodologies to practically implement security technologies and advise the team on work assignments. Providing oversight for the team by setting clear expectations, regularly evaluating performance, and offering recurring feedback to ensure goals are met. Aligning regional security activities with OPR's strategic direction and CBP's broader security goals, ensuring regional efforts support national CBP strategic objectives and reinforce the connection between regional initiatives and CBP's overarching mission.
