Sr. Financial Analyst

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the Plant Controller by managing financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This is a long-term contract position offering an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the financial success of a leading company in the food and food processing industry. Responsibilities: u2022 Assist in managing monthly financial close processes for manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Deliver detailed financial analyses to guide decisions on capital investments, cost-saving initiatives, and product innovation. u2022 Perform variance analyses to identify discrepancies and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver financial insights that support organizational projects and strategies. u2022 Uphold and enhance internal controls to maintain data accuracy and protect company assets. u2022 Develop and refine financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making. u2022 Analyze cost structures to identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction. u2022 Utilize data mining techniques to extract and interpret financial trends. u2022 Support ad hoc financial reporting and analysis tasks as needed. Requirements u2022 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or related roles. u2022 Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced variance analysis techniques. u2022 Strong knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel for financial reporting and data management. u2022 Experience conducting internal control reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy. u2022 Demonstrated ability to analyze costs related to product development and manufacturing. u2022 Familiarity with data mining techniques to extract actionable insights. u2022 Proven track record of supporting month-end close processes in a manufacturing environment. u2022 Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
