Plc Technician

Job Title: PLC TechnicianJob Description The role of PLC Technician involves being occasionally 'on call' during off hours to address emergency equipment breakdowns and perform routine repair work and preventative maintenance tasks. You will work with a variety of tasks including responding to equipment failures, completing scheduled maintenance and inspections, documenting GMP, PLC programming and troubleshooting, and driving process improvements. You will assist operations in meeting production timelines by ensuring equipment is in optimal condition and quickly addressing emergency breakdowns. Collaboration with other department teams for process improvements is also essential. Responsibilities + Resolve emergency equipment breakdowns promptly. + Conduct routine repair work and preventative maintenance tasks. + Respond to equipment failures as they occur. + Complete scheduled equipment servicing, lubrication, and inspections. + Document GMP procedures accurately. + Perform PLC programming and troubleshooting. + Assist operations in achieving production timelines. + Collaborate with department teams on process improvements. Essential Skills + Experience in PLC programming. + Knowledge of GMP and FDA regulations. + Understanding of process engineering and preventive maintenance. + Expertise in continuous improvement and manufacturing processes. + Skills in PLC troubleshooting and electrical engineering. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Background in industrial manufacturing. + Experience in reliability engineering and validation protocols. + Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry standards. + Capability in root cause analysis and lean manufacturing. Work Environment The work environment consists of a plant with approximately 150 employees and a team of 10-15 members. You will collaborate closely with maintenance mechanics, though not working directly with them. The role primarily involves a standard day shift but may require support during nights and weekends as needed. As the plant grows, shifts are subject to change, offering opportunities for growth and leadership in team initiatives throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
