Diesel Mechanic u2013 Fleet Maintenance (2nd Shift) Pay: $24u2013$35 per hour (based on experience and skill level) Shift: Traditional 2nd Shift Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team and support a fleet of large trucks. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient fleet operations. The ideal candidate is technically capable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently during a 2nd shift schedule. Key Responsibilities + Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel truck systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, exhaust, electrical, and HVAC + Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles + Identify mechanical issues and determine repair solutions efficiently and accurately + Perform repairs in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards + Document all maintenance and repair work completed + Communicate equipment status and repair needs clearly with supervisors + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment + Respond to breakdowns or urgent repair needs as required Qualifications + 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred (fleet experience a plus) + Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working on large trucks + Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools + Knowledge of DOT inspection and compliance standards + Valid driveru2019s license (CDL a plus, but not required) + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision + Reliable attendance and willingness to work a traditional 2nd shift Physical Requirements + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs + Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods + Comfortable working in a shop environment Compensation & Benefits + Competitive hourly pay: $24u2013$35/hour , based on experience and ability + Opportunities for overtime + Stable, full-time employment + Modern, well-equipped maintenance facility + Opportunities for growth and skill advancement Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.
