Job Description Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking anAssistant Director of Human Resources for the beautiful Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa If you love hospitality, creating amazing customer experiences, and the structure and benefits that come from working with a hotel company then you will love working with Omni We are proud to announce we ranked among the best resorts in Texas: Top 10 Resorts in the Southwest Conde Nast Traveler and Top 5 Resorts in Texas Travel + Leisure World's Best Awards 2024 This role will be responsible for assisting with and supervising all aspects of Human Resources, to include recruitment, benefits, training, associate relations,coaching & counseling, safety & Workeru2019s Compensation as well as risk prevention and legal compliance. Responsibilities u2022 Supervise and train hourly and management Human Resources team members. u2022 Provide counsel to the DHR in all areas of Omni policy, culture and leadership. u2022 Implement & facilitate training and development programs. Recommend new programs based on need. u2022 Conduct investigations and assist the DHR and senior leadership in making employment status decisions. u2022 Assist the DHR in the creation of responses to employment litigation from Federal and State offices. u2022 Fulfill all the responsibilities of the Director of HR in their absence, communicating effectively with property leadership as necessary u2022 Coach department heads and leaders to provide guidance and advice at all levels of the hotel on associate relations issues. Ensure our leadership team upholds Omni culture and complies with the law. u2022 Conduct Union Prevention training and ensure the Union Avoidance plan is administered according to Omni standards. u2022 Assist the Director of Human Resources in developing and maintaining an active u201cSuccession Planu201d for all departments of the hotel. u2022 Ensures all Omni Benefits programs are implemented according to standards.. u2022 Ensure on-boarding of new associates is implemented according to Omni standards. u2022 Ensure employee terminations are implemented according to Omni standards. u2022 Maintain legal compliance at all times. Ensure the team is up-to-date with evolving legislation and compliance. u2022 Maintain all Associate Service Center (HR) Standard Operating Procedures. u2022 Ensure the Associate Services (HR) complies with Internal Audit requirements. u2022 Ensure the department meets the standards of the HR Assessment. u2022 Implement the Hotel's associate feedback programs. Implement the Associate Engagement survey and assist the hotel in creating substantial action plans that move the Hotel forward. u2022 Ensure all Omni Training Programs are implemented successfully. u2022 Ensure the hotel complies with all training required by law (ex: TIPS, Food Handler, Sexual Harassment) etc. u2022 Ensure the associate files are maintained in a neat and organized manner. u2022 Plan and execute exciting, fun and interesting associate events at least quarterly. u2022 Implement Omniu2019s recognition programs. Ensure the Omni Service Champion culture is celebrated. u2022 Implement the Hotelu2019s wage and salary adjustment programs ensuring accurate market data to drive compensation programs. u2022 Implement the performance appraisal and salary increase programs according to Omni standards. Establish aggressive and effective recruiting and employment function to include job fairs in and around the community, colleges, universities, etc. Utilize monthly forecasting tool to ensure all departmental manpower needs are met. u2022 Consistently works to define Omni culture and 4 pillar philosophy on the property. Reflects and adapts to varying situations based on adherence to Omni culture and Standard Operating Procedures. u2022 Develop a consistent and lively associate communications network within the hotel, via bulletin boards (electronic or otherwise), department communication boards, posters and flyers. u2022 Responsible for clear and accurate documentation of all associate issues, on a timely basis following counseling and disciplinary procedures. Ensure legal liability of the company is protected at all times. u2022 Monitor departmental expense in compliance with check-book accounting process. Work closely to ensure associate relations and recruitment/advertising expenses are in line with monthly budget. u2022 Participate in yearly budgeting process, forecasting expenditures for associate relations with DHR. u2022 Fulfill reasonable requests of management as directed by DHR, GM or Managing Director. u2022 Conduct stay interviews & exit interviews for all terminating associates and ensure final clearance and pay check distribution. Qualifications Requirements: u2022 Must have at least 4 years of experience in Human Resources.u2022 Minimum of 3 years experience in a Human Resources leadership role. u2022 Must have significant associate relations experience at a decision-making level, including experience conducting investigations, managing the coaching and counseling and handling grievances.u2022 Must have a well-rounded Human Resources background with solid experience in employee relations, benefits, training, safety, liability avoidance and compliance.u2022 Bachelor's Degreeu2022 Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to coach, counsel, advise, mentor and motivate associates and managers at all levels.Preferred: u2022 Bilingual (English / Spanish). u2022 Hotel/Resort experience strongly preferred.u2022 HR Certification preferred (SHRM/HRCI, etc.)u2022 Experience conducting and implementing training and development programsu2022 Large hotel / resort experience preferred.u2022 Hotel Operations management experience preferred.
