Sr. Manager - Financial Operations + Reston, VA + Type: Full-time + Min. Experience: Manager Opportunity The Senior Manager of Financial Operations is a hands-on leader responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of Northrampu2019s financial and contract operations. This role owns the full accounting lifecycle while serving as a trusted partner to leadership in a government contracting (GovCon) environment. This is a cornerstone hire for Northramp. The role partners closely with the firmu2019s executive leadership team to design, implement, and continuously improve the financial systems, processes, and controls that support our growth.As Northramp scales, this position is expected to expand in both scope and influence, including the opportunity to own and support government contracting accounting requirements. It is ideal for someone who wants to build and mature a GovCon finance functionu2014starting with hands-on ownership today and growing into broader leadership responsibility over time. This is a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in one of the following states where Northramp currently operates: Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, Florida, North Carolina, or Pennsylvania. Occasional travel may be required for internal strategy meetings and firm-wide planning sessions. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Close + Own the general ledger and monthly close process, including preparation and analysis of financial statements. + Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with GAAP and GovCon best practices. + Maintain and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Financial Operations + Own and execute billing, A/P, A/R, payroll, and expense management, while improving efficiency and reducing manual processes. + Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, and working capital. + Serve as the system owner for financial tools and workflows, partnering with the internal operations leadership team to ensure systems are scalable, well-integrated, and well-adopted. GovCon Accounting, Rates & Compliance + Own and support government contracting accounting requirements, including: + Indirect rate structures (G&A, overhead, fringe, B&P, etc.) + Cost pool setup, maintenance, and allocations + Project- and contract-level financial tracking + Ensure billing and reporting align with contract terms, funding limits, periods of performance, and applicable regulations. + Maintain financial records and documentation in a manner that supports audit readiness and DCAA-aligned practices, without representing the firm as formally DCAA audited or certified. Partner with external accounting and compliance advisors as needed to strengthen controls and documentation over time. Contracts Administration + Support contract administration activities in partnership with leadership, including: + Tracking contracts, modifications, funding, and periods of performance. + Maintaining contract documentation, financial terms, and billing requirements. + Supporting invoice preparation to ensure accuracy and contract compliance. + Collaborate with delivery and operations stakeholders to ensure contract data is accurate and aligned across systems. + Partner with the internal operations leadership team to strengthen contract tracking processes and controls as the firm grows. Budgeting, Forecasting & Insights + Partner with leadership on annual budgeting and periodic forecasting. + Translate financial and contract data into clear insights that support operational and strategic decision-making. + Collaborate cross-functionally to align financial reporting with operational metrics and delivery performance. Required Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. + 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations. + Demonstrated experience in a government contracting (GovCon) environment. + Strong working knowledge of: + Indirect rates and cost pools + Contract-based billing and funding management + GAAP-compliant financial reporting + Hands-on experience with billing, A/P, A/R, payroll, and cash management. + Experience collaborating cross-functionally to design and improve systems and processes. + Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. + Prior experience scaling or modernizing financial and operational systems. Preferred Qualifications + Experience with Unanet or similar GovCon ERP platforms. + Experience supporting audit readiness, DCAA-aligned practices, or similar compliance activities.
