We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsWe are seeking an Operating Room Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center who demonstrates the values of our company by caring like family. You will be an amazing addition to our team by contributing your expertise in the circulating or scrub role. You will ensure safe and effective nursing care until your patient is transferred from your care to recovery. What you will do in this role: Evaluate patients prior to surgeryProvide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative processAssume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verificationParticipate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policyRecognize and respond to patient emergenciesDeliver high-quality, patient-centered care while managing evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiativesBe an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team - consisting of the provider(s), surgeons, surgical technologists and moreConsistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, technical skills and leadership to independently deliver safe nursing care to patientsAssess patient condition, monitor throughout your shift, and document changes in patient condition along with the care provided thoroughlyEducate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measuresQualifications you will need: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursingMinimum 1 year of experience in an operating room setting, preferably in an ambulatory surgery centerActive RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensureValid BCLS Certification upon employment ***online certification not acceptableACLS as required by facilityCNOR certification preferredTrident Surgery Center locatedin Charleston, South Carolina. We serve the residents of our city and the Lowcountry area ofSouth Carolina. This includes Beaufort, Jasper, Hampton and Colleton counties. Our AAAHC accredited center performs over 400 procedures a month. Services in dental,gastroenterology, gynecology, plastics, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT and urology procedures areavailable.
