The Education Coordinator supports the Center’s daily functions and empowers students, staff, and partners to design and deliver impactful educational programs, events, and outreach initiatives representing various traditions, perspectives, and cultures.The primary responsibility of this position is to identify educational themes for the Center’s programming and develop educational materials founded on research and collaboration with knowledge experts. This role combines hands-on coordination with mentorship and teamwork, helping others bring ideas to life while ensuring programs run smoothly.Program Development & Implementation — 50%Lead and support the planning, development, and execution of multiple simultaneous programs, workshops, celebrations, and events reflecting cultural values, heritages, and contemporary issues, ensuring they are accessible, well-organized, and community centered.Identify and research educational themes to support the Center's programming. Design interactive, experiential learning materials and programs to promote intercultural understanding and student engagement.Work alongside team members and student leaders to turn ideas into actionable plans—offering structure, guidance, logistical support, and hands-on assistance throughout the process to ensure high-quality execution.Identify opportunities for program growth and sustainability, including potential grants and partnerships to enhance the Center's impact.Community Engagement & Partnership Development — 30%Foster an environment to encourage belonging, curiosity, and mutual respect.Build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners to strengthen engagement and create shared initiatives.Represent the Center in collaborative initiatives and community meetings, ensuring alignment with the Center's goals and values.Act as a connector—linking people, ideas, and resources to support collective success.Support individual and team development through constructive feedback, shared learning opportunities, and clear expectations for performance.Program Evaluation & Resource Management — 15%Oversee the assessment of programs and events by collecting feedback, tracking participation, and evaluating outcomes to support continuous improvement.Prepare and present reports and data summaries to inform planning, decision-making, and strategic initiatives.Manage program budgets responsibly, ensuring transparent and efficient use of financial resources.Assist in identifying and securing external funding opportunities, including grants and sponsorships, to support program sustainability and growth.Other Duties — 5%Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the overall success of the Center and its mission.May serve as proxy for the Director.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, intercultural studies, or a related field plus two years of experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience in higher education, student affairs, student engagement, or community outreach. (Master's degree preferred).Proven Leadership & Empowerment: Demonstrated experience leading and supporting teams with a focus on collaboration, shared responsibility, and mutual growth. Skilled in making sound independent decisions, delegating to enable others to accomplish the desired result, and empowering others to take ownership of their work while modeling professionalism and accountability.Team Development: Experienced in coaching and mentoring teams to achieve shared goals and foster individual success.Program Development & Assessment: Strong background in developing, implementing, and evaluating educational and community-based programs to promote cultural awareness, education, and engagement.Academic Research Experience: Demonstrated ability to conduct and apply academic research to inform program development, event content, and intercultural education initiatives. Skilled in identifying credible sources, synthesizing information, and translating scholarly work into accessible, relevant materials for general audiences.Community & Partnership Building: Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with a broad array of individuals and groups, including students, faculty, staff.Preferred Qualifications:Grant Writing & Funding Support: Experience participating in grant-writing or funding development efforts to expand program capacity and sustainabilityKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Cultural Knowledge & Engagement: Deep understanding of cultural traditions, histories, and current issues.
