Job Title: Mild/Moderate Special Education Teacher Location: Cerritos, CA Pay Rate: Starting at $45+/hr (Negotiable, depending on experience) Overview: The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher demonstrates a strong commitment to team participation in the planning and implementation of student programs, including special instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff. This role is ideal for an educator passionate about supporting diverse learners and contributing to a collaborative school environment. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities. - Provide specialized academic instruction tailored to each studentu2019s unique needs. - Collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and district staff. - Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to support growth. - Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal documentation requirements. - Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support. - Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions. Minimum Requirements: - Bacheloru2019s Degree from an accredited university preferred. - Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations. - Minimum of one year experience in a teaching environment preferred. - State Teacher Certification Types Preferred: Standard Elementary Teaching Standard Secondary Teaching Standard Special Teaching - Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred. - Compliance with all relevant professional standards of practice. - Current CPR certification, if applicable. - TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable. - Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation). - Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements. - Must be at least 18 years of age.
