Description: This position performs work on the UK Technical Support Contract (TSC) of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program, in support of the US/UK Polaris Sales Agreement. Organizationally, the position is within the FBM UK Program Office (UKPO). The position is 100% onsite (not work from home) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, but situational flexibility for virtual work will be provided as needed to help ensure work/life balance (e.g., to accommodate a repair at home, sick child, car issue, etc.) In general, the UK Program Office and project engineers within the UKPO assist the US Navy with providing support to the UK's Trident II Continuous At Sea Deterrent. This involves a broad range of topics including: Support equipment and missile system trouble shooting, support equipment procurement planning, UK personnel training planning, facility integration, and fleet planning. UKPO personnel typically coordinate these activities by consulting with specific subject matter experts. The selected candidate will be expected to: Coordinate programmatic and technical solutions between LM, the US Navy, and the UK related to the UK's TRIDENT II (D5) Missiles and associated support hardware. Often, the candidate will be the lead coordinator on such efforts, working with personnel from other organizations and disciplines, including both technical and non-technical. Plan meetings, facilitate meetings, and make presentations to LM, the US Navy, and UK (public speaking is required). Plan and execute project schedules of varying magnitudes. Proactively track tasks being performed by other organizations to ensure on-time execution and/or highlight and resolve obstacles. Identify risks and opportunities as well as appropriate handling strategies. This position involves domestic and international travel. Work performed in this position generally occurs in a highly collaborative teaming environment and involves coming up with solutions to problems that can sometimes seem abstract (this position is not for individuals who prefer independent process-driven tasks). Basic Qualifications: Technical degree or a non-technical degree with demonstrated experience working on technical defense and/or aerospace projects. Candidate must have or be eligible to obtain a US Passport for international travel.
