Machinist

Hiring for a CNC Machinist Shift: 1st Shift Pay: Up to 36/hr Job Description Set up, operate, and maintain CNC mills and lathes to produce precision metal components for heavy-industrial applications. Interpret and work from blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications. Responsibilities + Adjust machine parameters, tooling offsets, and workholding to meet tight dimensional tolerances. + Perform machine setups including tooling selection, fixture installation, and program loading. + Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, indicators, bore gauges, and other precision measurement tools. + Monitor machining operations to ensure proper feed rates, tool condition, and part quality. + Troubleshoot machining issues such as chatter, tool wear, incorrect offsets, or material inconsistencies. + Perform basic G-code edits directly at the machine as needed. + Work with a variety of heavy-industrial metals, including carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless, and high-strength materials. + Follow established safety procedures and proper PPE use in a high-volume, heavy-manufacturing environment. + Maintain accurate production records, inspection logs, and job travelers. + Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to tooling, processes, and workflow efficiency. + Perform routine maintenance on machines, including lubrication, coolant checks, and cleaning of chips/debris. Essential Skills + Proficiency with CNC mills and lathes in a production or heavy-industrial setting. + Strong understanding of machining principles, speeds/feeds, and tool life management. + Ability to read complex blueprints and apply GD&T. + Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, or similar CNC controls. + Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. + Commitment to quality, safety, and productivity.
