FTE: 0.600000 Standard Hours: 24.00 Shift: 1st ShiftDetails: 0700 - 1900, Every 4th Weekend, Holiday Rotation Job Summary:Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency DepartmentTechnician (ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursingprocedures necessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety ofpatients in the Emergency and Trauma Center. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1year of previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA),Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician is required. Aminimum of 1 year of EMT experience is preferred. EDUCATION: High Schooldiploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents employed with FroedtertHealth hired prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute this educationalrequirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write andcommunicate complicated verbal and written communications at a levelnormally acquired through completion of a high school education..LICENSURE: State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician License,certified Medical Assistant (in lieu of Medical Assistant Certification,3 years of experience required), or State of Wisconsin Nursing AssistantCertification is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic LifeSupport for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalentis required to be completed within 30 days.
