The Pharmacy Department at Hartford Hospital utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams to advice on optimal drug therapy. We also have an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Pharmacy Residency program, an active Oncology infusion service, and a Retail/Specialty outpatient pharmacy. Job Summary In consultation with Pharmacy Manager and Director establish and implement policies, procedures, and standards to help ensure all IV Admixture Clean Rooms in the Region are in compliance with USP797 regulations. Responsible for regulatory compliance activities and reporting related to USP797. Oversees staff engaged in admixing, packaging and labeling of pharmaceuticals in activities related to USP797 compliance, serves as technical resource to staff and makes recommendations to managers related to performance of staff in relation to these functions. Provides primary pharmacist staffing of the IV Room in hospital, performing all duties of a Staff Pharmacist. Education Requirements Pharm.D. Required Minimum Requirements Current CT Pharmacist license or eligible within 45 days of hire. Two (2) years hospital pharmacy experience required. Three (3) or more hospital pharmacy experience with a focus in sterile products preferred Prior experience with EPIC systems preferred Certification or Training by a recognized group or organization(i.e. ASHP) in USP797 clean room procedures preferred.
