Job Description

Job Title: Process Technician Job Description As a Process Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating Thermoform equipment to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient production processes. You will perform start-up, shutdown, and cycling procedures for the thermoforming line and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime. Responsibilities + Monitor and operate Thermoform equipment for optimal performance. + Perform start-up, shutdown, and cycling procedures for the thermoforming line, including extruder, former, and trim press. + Troubleshoot and correct issues on the line to reduce downtime and scrap. + Perform and document in-process quality checks. + Communicate clearly during shift changes and collaborate with team members to resolve production issues. + Complete line changeovers and ensure accurate documentation. + Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations, including GMP, HACCP, SQF, ISO, and company policies. + Ensure proper use of PPE before shift starts. + Record accurate production data in systems such as WebEFF. + Support operators with defective parts and rework. + Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth operations. + Support QA by verifying product specs and documenting rejected data. + Follow sanitation procedures, line clearance protocols, and equipment checklists. + Keep the production area clean and organized, ensuring proper storage of chemicals and tools. + Report safety concerns or abnormal machine behavior to supervisors immediately. + Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Assistant Group Leader. Essential Skills + High school diploma or GED required. + Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues. + Dependable work history with strong attendance and punctuality. + Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety standards. + Willingness to complete on-the-job training and demonstrate understanding of process responsibilities. + Ability to accurately complete documentation and enter data into production systems. + Adaptability to changing priorities and production needs. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Warehouse, production, manufacturing, general labor experience. + Mechanical and machine operation experience. + Must be able to stand, walk, or bend for the majority of an 8-hour shift. + Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. + 20/20 vision (with correction) and the ability to distinguish colors. + Ability to safely climb stairs and ladders. + Good manual dexterity and use of hands for handling tools and materials. + Ability to work around grease, oils, solvents, and in dusty environments without adverse reactions. + Ability to respond to visual and audible alarms and communicate verbally in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment Work in a climate-controlled environment with exposure to heat from machines. Personal protective equipment such as eye and ear protection, hair nets, smocks, and bump caps are required. Follow a dress code of jeans/shorts, t-shirt, closed-toe shoes, and refrain from wearing jewelry or consuming anything other than water on the production floor. Midnight shifts run from 11pm to 7:30am. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrence, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr.
