The Jacobs team is the largest water practice in the Atlanta market with a team of 125 determined, high-performing individuals working with most major metro-area clients on a vast array of projects.This is an opportunity to work on the largest, most complex water projects in the Georgia market as part of ENRu2019s #1 Design Firm. This role is based in our Atlanta, GA office and will work closely with both our local team and the Jacobs staff throughout the company. This role will involve working both independently and as part of larger multi-disciplinary teams to develop design concepts, prepare preliminary and detailed designs, support services during construction, and conduct on-site inspections and observations. This position offers a self-motivated professional the opportunity to grow professionally and personally within our diverse, fast-paced office.Duties and Responsibilities:u2022Provide planning, consulting, design, and construction services for various municipal, federal, industrial, and other clients in various fields, including water, wastewater, and water resources.u2022Prepare detailed structural design calculations and drawings and construction specifications.u2022Coordinate structural project work with architectural, civil, process, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff.u2022Conduct condition assessments for existing buildings and structures.u2022Participate in planning, cost development, management, and scheduling for assigned projects.u2022Utilize bespoke structural analysis software for structural designs while applying a comprehensive understanding of structural engineering, principles, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards, and their applications.u2022Collaborate with other senior engineers or Subject Matter Experts in Atlanta and offices throughout the United States.u2022Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge development.u2022Participate in client meetings and provide technical presentationsu2022Participate in Jacobs internal structural Community of Practice. u2022BS in Civil or Structural Engineering or related engineering discipline.u2022Minimum 10 years of experience as a structural engineeru2022Minimum 5 yearsu2019 experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systemsu2022Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Georgia with the ability to obtain licensing in other states across the US.u2022Experience with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 350, and AISC.u2022Knowledge of principles and practices of wind and seismic design, including the ability to apply required provisions of the building code.u2022Experience working in a multi-disciplinary project team.u2022Strong written and oral communication skills.Ideally, you'll also have:u2022Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.u2022Desire to pursue or already have a Structural Engineer (SE) license in Georgia.u2022Experience with STAAD Pro, TEDDS, RAM, Autodesk Revit, MicroStation, Mathcad, Bluebeam, and/or BIM skillsets.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
