Reference #: 2602531The chemist in this role will be responsible for leading maintenance of business projects in support of the NAR Packaging Food business. A successful candidate will be able to manage and execute on multiple projects of moderate complexity simultaneously. This position requires attention to detail and strong communication and reporting skills.Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships. u00a0Establishes own timeline and priorities with minimal changes. u00a0Demonstrates a broader knowledge pertinent to the role. u00a0Formulation and evaluation of Packaging coatings. u00a0Responsible for planning and executing projects with moderate complexity. u00a0Sample preparation and application of coating samples. u00a0Tests piece fabrication and evaluation. u00a0Performs laboratory work while maintaining safety as a top priority. u00a0Draws sound conclusions based on observations and data. u00a0Writes clear, concise and effective conclusion reports. u00a0Communicates technical information clearly and concisely. u00a0Functions effectively in a team environment and acts as a mentor to newer employees. u00a0Interacts with other members of the technical department, quality, sales, and manufacturing to provide solutions to customer problems. u00a0Is a technical resource in several areas of the business in various applications and procedures. u00a0Designs and executes projects using DOE's and statistical programs. u00a0Demonstrates a personal commitment to the team by helping/assisting other employees. u00a0Demonstrates critical thinking skills, recognizes anomalies, but may need further direction or coaching from supervisor. u00a0Utilizes historical knowledge and the search engines to gather information on projects to better understand and develop a plan. u00a0Supports and attends customer trials. u00a0Supports manufacturing department in product scale-up and investigations.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS u00a0Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status). u00a0Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math field. u00a0Must be at least 18 years of age. u00a0Minimum 1 years industry experience. u00a0Demonstrated time management skills. u00a0Experience in statistical analysis and experimental design.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS u00a0Experience formulating coatings. u00a0Must be proficient in Product Vision and HEARS.Travel Requirements: 10%This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.Successful candidate will be required to sign an Employee Restrictive Covenant Agreement where permitted by law.Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
