FTE: 0.875000 Standard Hours: 35.00Shift: 2nd Shift Details: 7/70 Schedule - Monday - Sunday, 10am - 8:30pm(Alternating Weeks) Job Summary: To assess patient financial needs,assist patients and collect deposits according to the Froedtert HospitalBilling and Collection Policy in a professional and courteous manner. Toscreen patients and assist with applications for applicable governmentalprograms, the health insurance exchange, and/or the Froedtert Healthfinancial assistance program. To stress customer service and positiveinterpersonal relations while working closely withAdmitting/Registration, Preauthorization, Care Management, appropriatedepartment personnel in Patient Financial Services and MCW ClinicalPractice Services in addressing financial responsibilities. FinancialCounselors at Froedtert Health play a vital role in helping patientsunderstand and manage the financial aspects of their healthcare. Theywork closely with patients to: Assess eligibility and assist withapplications for BadgerCare, Medicaid, Marketplace plans, andFroedtert's Financial Assistance Program Provide cost estimates andprepayment information for upcoming services Meet with patients invarious settings-bedside, in-office, or by phone-to address billingquestions Serve as a liaison between patients, the preauthorizationteam, and clinical departments to ensure seamless communication andsupport Why You'll Love Working With Us: Fast-paced, patient-facingrole with opportunities for direct interaction at the bedside,in-office, or via phone. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 1 year of experience inhealthcare/revenue cycle functions (or other business office), casemanagement, or social work is required. Experience using MicrosoftWord, Excel and other software programs is preferred. Experienceusing Epic in a healthcare environment is preferred. Experience insocial work or case management is preferred. EDUCATION: High Schooldiploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in social work,case management, healthcare administration, business administration, orother related field is preferred. LICENSURE: State of Wisconsin andFederal Certified Application Counselor Designation is preferred. Inlieu of Certified Application Counselor Designation, current LicensedHealth Insurance Agent is preferred.
