Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Austin, Texas. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical accounting operations, including revenue recognition, accruals, and month-end reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and project management to help drive improvements and ensure smooth execution of financial tasks. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage revenue recognition processes and accruals while ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, including ASC606. u2022 Oversee month-end close procedures, including reconciliations related to revenue accounts. u2022 Lead and coordinate accounting projects aimed at improving financial operations and processes. u2022 Execute trade and brokerage accounting tasks as required within the general accounting framework. u2022 Prepare and respond to audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate documentation. u2022 Utilize NetSuite and Excel for handling large financial datasets and semi-manual accounting workflows. u2022 Monitor and manage deferred revenue accounts, ensuring proper reporting and compliance. u2022 Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and improvements in accounting practices. u2022 Support the preparation of journal entries and general ledger maintenance. u2022 Perform account and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Requirements u2022 Strong experience with revenue recognition and accrual accounting, including familiarity with ASC606. u2022 Proven expertise in month-end close activities and revenue-related reconciliations. u2022 Project management skills with a track record of spearheading accounting improvements. u2022 Knowledge of trade and brokerage accounting within a general accounting context. u2022 Ability to handle audit requests efficiently and provide accurate documentation. u2022 Proficiency in NetSuite and advanced Excel usage for managing large datasets. u2022 Solid understanding of deferral accounting and related processes. u2022 Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate financial records.
