Type: Full Time Posted Date: 2026-02-03 Pay Range: 40.00 - 44.00 USD per hour Primary Function Provide evaluation, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance for components and systems within sophisticated audiovisual (AV) systems as well as the installation of AV components in system upgrades in conference rooms, control rooms, auditoriums, and performance spaces. Duties & Responsibilities Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of AV systems, including cabling and wiring, audio and video distribution and recording systems, cameras, projectors, decks, monitors, audio sound consoles (mixers), microphones, SI equipment, computers, control systems, data/video displays and projection systems, videoconferencing equipmentSurvey rooms to ensure systems are functioning properlyWork closely with Media Systems Technicians and the AVSC to report, track, identify and evaluate necessary equipment repairsFollow the preventative maintenance plan, suggesting ideas and providing solutions to consistent problemsInteract with other departments and vendors to schedule necessary maintenanceProvide Tier 1 and Tier 2 troubleshooting response in coordination with AVSCProvide reporting, documentation, and SOPs for the maintenance service areaMonitor inventory of necessary parts and tools, create justifications for orders where neededOccasionally perform duties outside of regular business hours, evenings and sometimes weekends as workload demandsTravel locally as neededOther duties as assigned Skills & Qualifications A strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution is criticalAbility to read and understand technical/schematics and have good, logical system troubleshooting skillsAbility to understand signal flow diagrams and construction drawingsGood basic repair bench knowledge and ability including strong soldering skillsAudio and video cable fabrication; Cable pulling and rack fabricationAble to evaluate equipment and prepare equipment to be sent out for repairsFamiliarity with Crestron and AMX control systems, Omnivex digital signage, audio consoles, power amplifiers, digital signal processors, video matrix switchers, video scalars, PC interfaces and digital video recordersFamiliarity with ServiceNow preferredAbility to document and track history of repairs, installations, and inventoryMust be capable of working at heights and have good balance, may be required to lift heavy equipment up to 60 poundsStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment are essentialMust be a self-starter and a team player Education & Experience Bacheloru2019s degree in communications, Audio/Music, Electronic Engineering or related field preferred; or technical school training with electronics training and related experienceMinimum 5+ yearsu2019 hands-on repair experience for AV, broadcast, IT, or telecommunicationsAVIXA CTS certification preferred.
