Purchasing Intern

The Purchasing Intern performs key tasks in support of several service areas provided by Carmeuseu2019s Purchasing Department. The roleu2019s primary emphasis is the collection and distribution of information related to existing Purchasing programs. Additionally, the role should promote continuous improvement, seeking opportunities to streamline effort in order to assist in additional areas. The Purchasing Intern will communicate frequently with all levels of the company plus several suppliers. Responsibilities and Duties + Handle a variety of tasks to assist the Purchasing Department + Utilize SAP (ERP system) to manage transactions + Participate in procurement strategy + Assist and conduct Requests for Proposals (RFPu2019s) + Supplier and internal communications + Supplier evaluation and negotiations + Management of supplier database + Invoice reconciliation + Other projects as needed Job Qualifications + Undergraduate or graduate business student; Supply Chain focus a plus + Solid communication and analytical skills + Willingness to work with a variety of team members + High energy level and ability to multi-task + Desire to learn and take on responsibility + Conduct all interactions in a professional manner READY TO JOIN A ROCK-SOLID FAMILY?
