Painting and Staining log homes

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Fill cracks, holes, or joints with caulk, putty,plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives. Coversurfaces with dropcloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfacesduring painting. Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, scrapers, brushes,steel wool, or sanding machines. Read work orders or receiveinstructions from supervisors or homeowners to determine workrequirements. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such asbare wood or metal, for finish coats. Apply paint, stain, varnish,enamel, or other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, or otherstructures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers. Wash and treatsurfaces with oil, turpentine, mildew remover, or other preparations,and sand rough spots to ensure that finishes will adhere properly.Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, orusing water or abrasive blasting. Use special finishing techniques suchas sponging, ragging, layering, or faux finishing. Waterproof buildings,using waterproofers or caulking. OTHER EXPERIENCE ANDQUALIFICATIONS: --- Experience Needed Candidate should haveprior experience in commercial maintenance, janitorial services, orfacility services, preferably in a role involving independentwork and traveling between multiple job sites. Experience with taskssuch as general cleaning, minor repairs, floor care, and basic buildingupkeep is strongly preferred.
