SUMMARY As an Access Associate, you will be responsible for many administrative support duties, such as greeting patients, performing check-in and check-out procedures and processing payments. This position requires a warm and inviting disposition, as you will be the first point of contact for our patients and their families. STATUS: Per-diem LOCATION: Unity Hospital DEPARTMENT: Admitting SCHEDULE: Minimum 24 hours per six-week schedule block; every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) u200b ATTRIBUTES + 2-year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred + Intermediate computer skills + Excellent customer service and communication skills RESPONSIBILITIES + Customer Service. Manage incoming calls while providing necessary information; greeting patients providing direction as needed and scheduling patient appointments + Registration & Verification. Complete the registration process for patients as defined by departmental policy; verify insurance eligibility/coverage and obtain necessary precertification/authorization when applicable + Billing & Payments. Collect and process payments when applicable Position Summary:In a customer service-oriented manner, interviews patients and/or their representative to collect required registration data, to include but is not limited to; demographic and financial data as well as obtain required signatures, communicates mandated patient information and verifies all information for accuracy. Process includes but is not limited to insurance verification, obtaining precertification/authorization, co-payment collection and communicating with patient and/or their representative with regards to their financial assistance needs.Key Responsibilities:u2022 Manages incoming calls while providing necessary information. u2022 Greeting of patients and/or their representatives and providing direction as needed. u2022 Scheduling and/or prescheduling patient appointments. u2022 Interviewing the patient and/or their representative for necessary information and completing the registration process as defined by departmental policy. u2022 Identification of services where no payment source has been identified to be followed up by communication of financial assistance and/or payment arrangements. u2022 Verification of insurance eligibility/coverage and obtaining necessary precertification/authorizations when applicable. u2022 Collecting/processing co-payments, deductibles and/or other types of payments. Provides an estimate of cost when applicable. u2022 Reviews charges in charge review WQs for completeness and accuracy. u2022 Ensures the accuracy of all data collected while meeting the regulatory requirements as outlined by the departmental policy. u2022 Communication with external customers such as but not limited to; payers, physician offices and other departments. u2022 Accurately sets up new patient record via Care Connect. u2022 If qualified, may be asked to interpret on occasion. u2022 Performs other duties as assigned.RGMG Only: Flexibility and transportation to other medical group locations or other affiliated locations required.Minimum Qualifications:Associate degree preferredOne year of customer service experience preferred.Required Licensure/Certification Skills:u2022NoneRochester Regional Health is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer. PAY RANGE: $17.85 - $19.50 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14626 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
