SUMMARY: + The Off Shift Director of Nursing is a Nursing Leader who serves as a resource for problem solving, provides clinical expertise, facilitates staff mentoring and coaching, facilitates patient flow during the off shifts (typically, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays) RESPONSIBILITIES: + u00b7 Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines. u00b7 Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions, transportation & other resources needed. u00b7 Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements. u00b7 Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated. u00b7 Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in-services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan. u00b7 Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration. u00b7 Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records. u00b7 Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required. Minimum Qualifications: + Minimum of two to three years of RN experience Required Licensure/Certification Skills: + Current New York State Registered Nurse License + Effective 1/1/2014, BLS required for all new candidates prior to hire. + BLS required for all internal team members by 12/31/2014. EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED)New York State Education Department (NYSED) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements. PAY RANGE: $40.50 - $57.69 CITY: Newark POSTAL CODE: 14513 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
