Building Maintenance Technician $40-$45/hr San Diego County Job Description We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all plumbing, electrical, and HVAC requirements within our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities + Perform all plumbing, electrical, or HVAC requirements of the building(s). + Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV, and air distribution systems. + Monitor and adjust all mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and other equipment to ensure a comfortable environment. + Verify field conditions and perform necessary repairs or adjustments. + Monitor Energy Management systems. + Repair doors, ceilings, hand railings, and floors, and perform other general repairs, adjustments, and installations. + Perform repairs to plumbing fixtures such as water closets, urinals, and lavatories. + Conduct preventive maintenance duties, including changing filters, cleaning coils, and inspecting belts. + Inspect engine room equipment, cooling towers, and other essential machinery. + Ensure emergency exits are operational and conduct fire safety inspections. + Document and report activities to supervisors. + Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns. + Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives. + Complete all required safety training annually. Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required. + Graduation from an apprentice program or trade school preferred. + 5+ years of experience operating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a commercial setting. + Possession of relevant licenses such as Journeyman or Master Electrician License. + Basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word. + Experience in energy management systems. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
