Sr. Manager, Global Product Management, Molecular Instrumentation San Diego, CA, United States We are looking for a forward-thinking and experienced leader to oversee global product management for Hologicu2019s molecular instrumentation portfolio, including Panther Scalable Solution, Tomcat, and their supporting automation, software, and consumables. In this leadership role, you will lead the team to shape portfolio strategy and guide the long-term lifecycle plan of molecular systems for laboratory diagnostics, while ensuring products deliver strong market relevance and sustained commercial success. The successful candidate brings proven expertise in managing complex product portfolios in diagnostics, life sciences, or medical technology, and excels at translating market insights and customer needs into product solutions. This role collaborates across key cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional value and drive continuous business growth. Job Expectations Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management + Drive the global product strategy and roadmap for the molecular instrumentation portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives and long-range plans + Define portfolio priorities and investment priorities across diagnostic systems, automation, software, accessories, and workflow solutions + Lead portfolio planning, forecasting alignment, and capital planning in partnership with finance and commercial leadership + Provide oversight of end-to-end product lifecycle management planning from concept through launch, sustainment, optimization, and end of life + Champion long term sustainability of the installed base including reliability, serviceability, upgrade paths, total cost of ownership, and customer experience + Partner with service, quality, and operations teams to monitor fleet performance trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives Market & Customer Insights + Lead and conduct, in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, qualitative and quantitative research to deeply understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape in molecular instrumentation, automation and laboratory workflow solutions + Translate customer workflows, market trends, and competitive dynamics into portfolio level strategy and product direction Performance Analysis & Optimization + Define KPIs, analyze product performance for all molecular instrumentation and execute plans to meet/exceed defined goals + Monitor and communicate competitive activity, formulating strategic responses as needed + Develop and implement strategic frameworks to monitor and optimize product adoption and customer experience across molecular instrumentation portfolio Stakeholder Engagement & Advocacy + Serve as the internal product leader and voice of the customer, inspiring and influencing cross-functional teams, globally + Cultivate and strengthen strategic partnerships with key customers and industry stakeholders, championing customer advocacy initiatives, and informing organizational strategy with customer insights + Engage laboratory professionals to validate product concepts and gather actionable feedback. Sales Enablement & Field Support + Partner and support commercial marketing, service, support and other key cross-functional teams in development of effective go to market strategies, sales tools and resources + Support internal teams with product expertise for all molecular instrumentations People Leadership and Development + Build, lead, and develop a high performing molecular instrumentation global product management team + Coach and mentor product managers to strengthen strategic thinking, customer centricity, and executive communication + Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Key Qualifications + Educational Background: Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, PhD) preferred. + Experience: + 8+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or related roles within diagnostics, life sciences, or medical technology + 3+ years of leadership experience, managing a team of professional level direct reports. + Demonstrated success leading a team to deliver results + Proven track record of effectively navigating and developing productive relationships across functions and levels of the organization, including senior leadership teams. + Demonstrated experience managing complex clinical or molecular instrumentation platforms, systems, or portfolios with global scope + In depth knowledge of molecular diagnostic laboratory instrumentation, workflow, and customer segments preferred + Strong leadership skills, business and financial acumen are required + Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including senior management + Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, PhD) preferred Behaviors: + Customer-Centric: Self-directed focus on understanding and fulfilling internal customer needs + Proactive: Ability to anticipate challenges and take initiative to address them + Collaborative: Works well with team members and internal teams such as product development, engineering, regulatory, etc. + Adaptable: Flexible in the face of changing market conditions and customer requirements + Integrity: Upholds the company's values and adheres to industry ethical standards, especially important in healthcare. The annualized base salary range for this role is $131,300 to $218,800 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand. Why Hologic?
