Description Burns & McDonnellu2019s Water Practice is experiencing rapid growth in the Mid-Atlantic region and is seeking a motivated Senior Program/Project Manager to support the delivery of large-scale water and wastewater capital programs, projects and strategic advisory services. This role is ideal for a self-driven professional with experience in program management and infrastructure development, including design-build delivery. The candidate will work closely with senior leadership to advance business development efforts, enhance engineering and construction capabilities, and oversee key initiatives for regional utility clients. This position also plays a critical role in expanding the Water Practice in a dynamic, client-focused, and profitable wayu2014guided by Burns & McDonnellu2019s core values of client satisfaction, commitment, integrity, safety, and exceptional service. Specific areas of responsibility include the following: u00b7Provide managerial and technical direction to professional and support staff during project execution, including project controls, data management, capital project delivery, public outreach, regulatory compliance, and construction management. u00b7Lead and/or support the execution of collaborative delivery projects, primarily progressive design-build u00b7Support Owneru2019s in an advisory role in helping them deliver water and wastewater projects both enterprise-wide and for specific projects as required. u00b7Establish project teams, coordinate activities of multiple disciplines, and ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff. u00b7Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff in facets of project and client management. Assist in recruitment, mentoring, and retention of staff. u00b7Lead and/or support business development activities including client and project development, proposal development and strategic planning. u00b7Must be able to manage results, maximize project profitability, manage billable hours on projects, and achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance. u00b7When applicable, support and lead negotiating compliance schedules and terms with regulatory agencies; develop and present program issues to regulatory agencies as well as the general public. u00b7Assist in the development of already established clients and new clients. u00b7Participate in and attend industry-associated conferences and/or committees. u00b7Develop relationships with other consultants and contractors to build possible teaming arrangements for future pursuits. u00b7Promote and follow Burns & McDonnell safety protocols on all projects. u00b7Other duties as assigned. Qualifications u00b7Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related degree from accredited program. u00b7Minimum of seven (7) years applicable experience required. Ten (10) years preferred. u00b7Prior project, program and/or construction management experience in the water industry, with collaborative delivery experience is a plus. u00b7Excellent written and verbal communication skills. u00b7Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. u00b7Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, and ability to work overtime on short notice. u00b7Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office u00b7Ability to work collaboratively with others (Owner's, Contractors, Project Managers, Engineers and Designers) in a multi-disciplined project team environment to resolve design or drawing issues as appropriate and to accomplish objectives. u00b7Strong project management skills and a strategic perspective preferred. u00b7Proven collaboration, facilitation, and organization problem solving skills in previous roles. u00b7Demonstrated planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. u00b7Ability to influence, lead and manage change thoughtfully and positively. u00b7Proven leadership in developing and implementing visions that have brought a positive impact. u00b7Ability to handle difficult situations with tact, poise, and discernment; capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. u00b7Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients. u00b7Demonstrated technical leadership, preferably in at least one area of water/wastewater treatment, wastewater collection, conveyance and treatment; water supply distribution and treatment; and stormwater management. u00b7Capital planning and project delivery experience, including design and construction is preferred. u00b7Knowledge and demonstrated experience in implementing organizational management methodologies and tools is a plus. u00b7Experience and familiarity with corporate human resources policies is a plus. u00b7Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software is a plus.
