About the Opportunity This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. The Supply Chain Analyst is part of the Contract Review Team (CRT) in Supply Chain Support Services. It involves reviewing, approving, and negotiating contract terms and conditions with FirstEnergy Corp.'s vendors in order to meet Supply Chain process and Business Unit deadlines. This position works closely with FirstEnergy Buyers, Legal and Management. This position is onsite and will be located in either Akron, OH or Greensburg, PA and reports to the Supervisor, Supply Chain Supplier Development and Contracts. The paralegal is a member of the Contract Review Team (CRT) within Supply Chain organization. The team is responsible for reviewing and negotiating custom contracts for goods and services with FirstEnergy suppliers to mitigate risk. This position works closely with FirstEnergy Supply Chain Sourcing, Legal, and Leadership. Responsibilities include: _General Responsibilities_ u2022 Work collaboratively in a professional, team-oriented environment, demonstrating respect toward colleagues and suppliers. u2022 Adhere to all relevant FirstEnergy and Supply Chain policies, practices, and procedures. _Key Responsibilities_ u2022 Independently review and negotiate non standard and custom contracts, primarily Master Services Agreements (MSAs), with suppliers of goods and services. u2022 Review and negotiate supplier provided terms, software licensing agreements, and other non standard templates for suitability and acceptable risk levels. u2022 Support the review and negotiation of additional contractual documents used in FirstEnergy goods and services procurements. u2022 Assess legal and business risks in contract language and recommend acceptance or propose changes to mitigate risks. u2022 Determine when escalation to Legal is required based on risk, scope, contract conditions, or defined thresholds (e.g., dollar value, critical infrastructure, data access, environmental or tech risk, international parties, long-term commitments). u2022 Ensure contract accuracy, compliance, and alignment with FirstEnergy policies, standards, and risk tolerances. u2022 Lead multi department negotiation processes to meet business needs and deadlines. u2022 Collaborate with internal stakeholdersu2014including Legal, Supply Chain Sourcing, Insurance Risk, Tax, Cyber Security, Information Compliance, Audit, and Business Unitsu2014during negotiation and contract evaluation. u2022 Evaluate previously approved non standard contracts for potential reuse in new procurements or scopes of work (SOWs). _Approvals & Authority-Based Decisions_ u2022 Review and approve non standard contract terms within defined authority levels. u2022 Approve contract modifications when changes are limited to commercial terms or previously approved language. u2022 Review and approve contract extensions and contracts issued under previously approved non standard master agreements. _Procurement & Buyer Support_ u2022 Assist Supply Chain Sourcing in selecting the appropriate standard Master Service Agreement (MSA) template for each procurement. u2022 Support Supply Chain Sourcing in contract strategy, risk considerations, and alignment with FirstEnergy policies, practices, and procedures. _Training, Monitoring & Compliance_ u2022 Develop and deliver contract related training to the Supply Chain organization. u2022 Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to FirstEnergy and Supply Chain policies, practices, and procedures. u2022 Track, monitor, and report contract metrics and process performance. u2022 Maintain complete records of request, negotiation rounds, and final contract. _Additional Responsibilities_ u2022 Assist Legal in the updates of FirstEnergyu2019s Master Services Agreement (MSA) templates and other contractual standard template documents. u2022 Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk. u2022 Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned. Analyst IV will be expected to perform all the above responsibilities with more proficiency and greater independence. Further, the Analyst IV will be assigned additional responsibilities related to those listed above. Qualifications at the Analyst III level include: u2022 Strong organizational skills u2022 Strong project management skills u2022 Strong ability to synthesize data u2022 Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely u2022 Strong presentation skills u2022 Strong oral and written communication skills u2022 Ability to work both independently and as part of a team u2022 Detail-oriented u2022 Ability to collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels u2022 Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, OneDrive) u2022 Ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in paralegal studies or related discipline such as Purchasing, Business, Engineering. Juris Doctorate a plus. u2022 Minimum of 4 years relevant work experience required. Relevant work experience will include contract review or negotiating experience.
