Join us.We are currently seeking a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator for a uniqueopportunity on our manufacturing team in Appleton, WI. Our shop is notyour typical machine shop. As a CNC Machinist/Machine Operator, you willbe an integral part of a successful team and will be responsible foroperating the vertical turning centers that produce specialized productsand components for the aerospace industry. In this role, you will beable to work with new state-of-the art equipment in a safe, clean, airand climate-controlled environment. This is 3rd shift position,Monday-Friday, 11pm-7am. We will train a motivated, mechanicallyinclined candidate A successful CNC Machinist/Machine Operator is aproblem solver, safety focused and understands the importance ofprecision and quality. To be successful. you'll have to learn ATI, ourproducts, customers and procedures and work collaboratively with otherCNC Machinists and cross-functional teams to ensure product ismanufactured to quality and customer specifications. ResponsibilitiesReceives work instructions, operation sheets, setup sheets, 1st pieceand in-process check sheets from department supervision indicating theoperations to be performed Reads and interprets dimension drawings,sketches, tool setup sheets and manufacturing instructions forperforming required machining operation and setups Uses operationaldrawings to determine required dimensions, travels and tolerance to bemaintained Oversees and controls the operation of machining centers inthe machining of forgings made from various types of super alloys withfull support of the engineering and programming departments Usesprecision or standard measuring devices that are completely furnished bythe company, such as scales, inside and outside micrometers, dialindicators, Vernier scales, fixed frame gauges or special gauges andprofilometers to check machined dimensions and surface finishesconforming to customer prints and/or specifications Loads and unloadspieces using an overhead hoist Exercises care in handling materialbefore and after the machining operation. Basic Qualifications 1 year ofexperience in a transferrable industry with transferrable skills. Basicreading, math, and measurement comprehension. The ability to readinstructions, and perform simple measurements is critical. PreferredQualifications High School Diploma or Equivalent, Vo-Tech Certificate orassociate degree in electrical, mechanical or another related curriculumSkills Strong knowledge of basic machining principles Excellent oral andwritten communication skills Able to work effectively andcollaboratively with cross-functional...
