Machinist, Engine Lathe - 3rd Shift

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description: ELIGIBLE FOR $1,500 HIRING BONUS Set up,adjust and operate various sizes and types of engine lathes, pullbores,trepan and push boring machines. Operate various machinessimultaneously. Determine set ups and set up to insure concentricity tovery close tolerance over considerable lengths. Select speeds, feeds,and tooling. Determine sequence of operations to accomplish requireddimensional and finish requirements. Improvise and grind tooling to meetvarying materials and operating conditions. Make or assist othermachinists in set ups. Adjust equipment as needed based on unusualsound, off standard or usual cutting problems. Check own work. Mayassist in development of tooling for special purposes. Perform machineclean-outs as needed to facilitate production. Requirements: Able towork from blueprints and specifications. Solid shop math background.Experience with a variety of precision measuring instruments. Generalknowledge of machining practices and set ups. 1-3 years machiningexperience. Familiar with use of crane and other lifting devices. Ableto lift and carry 50 lbs.
