Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician II for our Central Medication Refill Program.Location: Remote. Must reside in Virginia.Status: FT (40 hours per week) Mon-FriShift: Days, 8 hr ShiftsHours: 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pmThe Pharmacy Tech II performs the technician responsibilities in specialized areas of pharmacy practice under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work areaDemonstrates the ability to competently work independently in defined specialized areas of pharmacy practiceTraining in an advanced Specialist Pharmacy Technician job functionsAssumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced specialist job positionsParticipates in the training of new employeesFills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner as required by specialty positionEnsures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient careTriages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as neededUses appropriate systems for processing patient informationEnsures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirementsOperates pharmacy equipment appropriatelyTraining in an advanced Specialist Pharmacy Technician job functionsIn addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice.EducationHigh School Diploma or EquivalentCertification/LicensureVirginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)Experience2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required) Pharmacy Tech, PTCB, NHA, Medication, Pharmacy, Pharmacy Technician, Compounding, Epic, Hospital, Retail Pharmacy, Outpatient, consult, prior authorization, Rx, #LI-SM1, prior authorization, refill requests, prescription renewal, primary care
