Job Summary:In this role, you will supervise a team of civil/structural personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve civil/structural investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high quality work plans, successful implementation of civil/structural components, team support and training, and project performance."This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership” #LI-SF1Major Responsibilities: Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day Civil/Structural engineering activity on small sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal complexity within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs and schedules and assigns work accordingly Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements Prepares or oversees the preparation of Civil/Structural discipline estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly Reviews and make recommendations for the Civil/Structural engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering When directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of Civil/Structural engineering aspects of the work Reviews and approves steel and concrete calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned Ensures that assigned Civil/Structural engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development Assists in the preparation and reviews of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders Receives assignments with clear goals and the process by which to meet goals Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees Recommends changes to policies that affect immediate organization(s) Other duties as assigned by the EGS Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in a Civil, Structural, or Architectural degree and 8 -10years of progressive relevant experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Basic Qualifications: Must be a US citizen Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Minimum Qualifications: Experience planning and executing work in an Earned Value Management System environment Experience with project controls including scheduling, estimating engineering efforts, planning, and work packaging Broad knowledge of the application of engineering design principles Prior engineering team leadership experience, relevant experience includes previous experience supervising others Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods Experience with Building Information Modeling and information automation Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved Knowledge of industry /regulatory codes and standards, and design and/or layout criteria pertinent to the discipline Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computers in the discipline Preferred Qualifications: Prior construction oversight experience Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000 Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense Experience with procurement automation tools Experience with use or knowledge of Revit and/or InRoads Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building DesignGuide Experience in complex excavation approaches and construction execution, field experience is preferred Knowledge of Bechtel Corporate guides and standards Total Rewards/Benefits: For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
