Employment Type:Part timeShift:Rotating ShiftDescription:Interpret physician orders, screen profiles for drug interactions, refill medicationorders from patient profile, compound I.V. admixtures and perform duties of a Registered Pharmacist withthe attendant supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. The pharmacy intern will help cover nights and weekends at the MedsToGo PharmacyWhat the Community Pharmacy Intern will need:High school graduate or equivalent level of competency required.Current acceptance/enrollment in an accredited pharmacy program. Internship licenserequired within 3 months of hire.Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicateeffectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.What the Community Pharmacy Intern will do:Triage telephone/window inquiries effectively andwith an excellent customer service focusInventories and prepares controlled substancesfor pharmacy and patient care areas under thedirect supervision of a pharmacist: Completes aninventory of controlled substances kept in the IVroom at the end of each shift documented on boththe daily IV room maintenance log and thecontrolled substance accountability record(CSAR).Prepares total parenteral nutrition using the automix machine. Calibrate the machine as definedby policy: Documents all procedures relating to TPN preparation.(Calibration of the auto-mix compounder, tubing and bagchange over and hood cleaning before and after)Cleans and sterilizes equipment per policy.Documents hood cleaning routines on every shift.Maintains a clean and stocked work environment.Orders necessary supplies.Monitors quality control ofhoods/refrigerators/freezers.
