Job Description

The main purpose of this position is to ensure the effective planning and execution of dray moves within assigned regions while working closely with both domestic and International Intermodal Customer Specialists, Intermodal Equipment Planners, and Dray Asset Planners. This must be done while meeting the key performance indicators that insure a financially sound operation and reliable service product.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above-listed position:Administer the assignment of dray moves to the most effective capacity type (Werner assets or 3rd party dray carriers). This includes the prioritization of loads based on customer requirements,commitments, equipment utilization, profitability, and revenue generation.Establish and retain key relationships with 3rd party carriers while holding them accountable to capacity, rate, and performance commitments.Hit key performance indicators surrounding carrier arrival/departure times, BOL indexing, obtaining ETA’s, and managing ramp storage.Advise Operations Supervisor of issues or needs as necessary and perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.Work with Dray Asset Planner to maximize the production and profitability of Werner asset trucks.Work with the Equipment Team to manage the day-to-day utilization of railyard and customer equipment pools to maximize asset utilization and balance.Additional Job DescriptionKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Includes a basic understanding of cost management and revenue generation.Knowledge of national, regional, and metropolitan geography.Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations with regards to the trucking industry.Excellent decision-making skills in logistical planning.Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEA minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration is preferred with an emphasis in Marketing, or Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent experience.Two to three years customer service experience preferred.Two to three years of transportation experience preferred.One to two years Blume and Railroad experience preferred.Two to Three years Load planning, Operations, Intermodal experience preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSSeeing and hearing: Read documents, computer screen answer phones, communicate in person. 75-100%Standing and walking. 0-24 %Climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling. 0-24 ?xterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing. 75-100 %Lift more than 10 pounds. 0-24 % We know benefits are critical and we are committed to offering comprehensive and affordable options for you and your loved ones.
