We are seeking an AI First Software Builder to create services and applications to support the Ring Alarm Cloud. You possess extensive experience building software. You should be immersed in AI IDEs and seek to use AI first when documenting, designing, and coding. After understanding context, a concise prompt should be your first consideration after a discussion around requirements. Coupled with being driven by AI you should have deep code reviewing skills and the ability to identify and correct errors created by either tooling or other developers.At Ring, you will solve complex issues surrounding the delivery of messaging received and sent from the Ring Alarm, Ring Smart Lights, Amazon Sidewalk, and Amazon Alexa. You will work in partnership with the Ring Alarm Team, Ring Smart Lighting Team, the Cloud Guild, Product Management, and key leadership. You will build and generate software in Java and Golang utilizing AWS as your delivery environment.Key job responsibilities:Work across the organization to present and delivery high quality solutions quicklyWrite high quality distributed system software for large scale applications, managing high TPS >10000/secondWork with product management and cross functional teams to provide technical solutions for desired user experiencesWork with other team members to architect and design approachesPrototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibilityTake ownership of large componentsDrive best practices and engineering excellenceBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience- Experience with AI/ML technologies- 3+ years of software development with object oriented language, or 3+ years of software development with object oriented language experience- Experience in designing and developing large-scale services- Experience with web services, APIs, REST, SOAP, microservices, SOA, architecture- 1+ year of creating software using AI tooling like Cursor, Kiro, Claude Code, etc.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent- Experience working with Git or an equivalent distributed version control system- Experience with AWS Services including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, SQS- 4+ years of integration, testing and automation experience- Experience with open-source technologies like Linux, Spring or React- Experience with designing and building application using AWS services such as Lambda, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Kubernetes- Experience in Kubernetes, Docker or containers ecosystem- Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering and modeling, problem solving, and communicating recommendations- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs- Understanding and experience with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations- Experience with application monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, etc.)- Experience with C++Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
